The Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Paramedical Sciences, College of Pharmacy hosted National Pharmacovigilance Week 2024 on 20th September 2024, Friday at New Auditorium, SRH Campus, Coimbatore, joining the nation’s efforts to promote safe and rational use of medicines. The purpose of the event is to build ADR reporting culture for patient safety. Dr. T. K. Ravi, Principal, College of Pharmacy welcomed the gathering and in his welcome address, he emphasized the significance of pharmacovigilance center and its role in preventing adverse drug reaction and promoting responsible medication use in patient safety.
Our institute, has been been recognized as an authorized Medical Device Adverse Event Monitoring Center in 2018 and Adverse Reaction Monitoring Center in 2019 under PvPI, Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission. Dr. V. Sarveswaran Consultant Surgeon, SRH is the coordinator and Dr. P. Jambulingam, Consultant Physician & HOD, SRH is the deputy coordinator along with Dr. T. K. Ravi, Principal, Dr. S. Sriram, Professor & Head, Pharmacy Practice ,SRIPMS,COP as members of the centers.
Shri. C.V Ramkumar, CEO, Sri Ramakrishna Hospital (SRH), Coimbatore Presided over the program and in his presidential address, he emphasized the importance of ADR monitoring in ensuring the rational drug use.
The chief guest of the function Dr. S. Rajagopal, Medical Director SRH highlighted the awareness of medication errors and advancement of Pharmacovigilance digital system.
We were honored to have Dr. S. Alagappan, Medical Superintendent, SRH as our Guest of honor and he pointed out the management of medication risks and improved patients outcomes.
The event was graced by Dr. V. Sarveswaran Consultant Surgeon & Dr. P. Jambulingam, Consultant Physician of SRH Hospitals, who were also the coordinators of the Materiovigilance and Pharmacovigilance Centers and they felicitated clinical pharmacist and their role in identifying and monitoring ADR.
A Pharmocovigilance manual was released during the occasion by Dr. V. Sarveswaran along with other dignitaries.
The scientific sessions were conducted in three categories, ADR reporting, Case based studies, and Fun games on Pharmacovigilance for the participanrts.

The College of Pharmacy, Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Paramedical Sciences, Coimbatore in association with The Tamilnadu Dr MGR Medical University, Chennai conducted a training session for Red Ribbon Club program officers and Peer leaders on Friday 7th February 2024 at Sri Velumaniammal Memorial Hall. Dr. T.K. Ravi, Principal presided over the function. The chief guest of the event was Dr.S.Rajagopal, Medical director, Sri Ramakrishna Hospital, Coimbatore. The guest of honour was Thiru C.V.Ramkumar Chief Executive, S.N.R.Sons Charitable Trust, Coimbatore. Dr. B. Sundarasan, ART medical officer at CMC College Hospital in Coimbatore, who was invited as a special guest, gave a speech on early detection and prevention of AIDS. The training for program officers and peer leaders was carried out by the district program managers of the District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCU) of several districts, including Thiru D. Gopalakrishnan (Coimbatore),Thiru C. Sivakumar (Tiruppur), Thiru P.Duraisamy (Erode), and Thiru S. Arivazhagan (Udhagamandalam). There were 72 peer leaders and 42 program officers from the RRC unit, which consists of about 43 institutions. The importance of AIDS knowledge and prevention was emphasized to RRC members. Mrs. Maheswari, an HIV positive survivor, addressed about her experience to the gathering.
The College of Pharmacy, Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Paramedical Sciences, Coimbatore organized the World cancer Day event on February 5 th 2024 at Sri Velumaniammal Memorial Hall. The World Cancer Day is focused on the theme “Close the cancer gap”. The World Cancer Day is an international awareness day led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC). A model-making competition depicting various cancers and their symptoms relevant to the theme was held for students by the special day organizing team. The NSS unit of College of Pharmacy carried out a door to door awareness campaign in Pattanam village, Coimbatore by handing out pamphlets emphasizing the need of early cancer detection and prevention on behalf of World Cancer Day.

The College of Pharmacy, Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Paramedical Sciences, Coimbatorecelebrated the 75th Republic Day, 2024 at SRH campus. Students, Staff and Faculty members gathered for the celebration with pride and happiness. The chief guestDr.C.V.Ramkumar, Chief Executive, S.N.R.Sons Charitable Trust, Coimbatore with great enthusiasm gave an insight on the patriotism and insisted to remember the freedom fighters. Then he unfurled the national Flag with respect and saluted the high flying flag with pride and happiness. Also Dr.T.K.Ravi, Principal College of Pharmacy and Dr.Nirmala, Principal Collegeof Nursing motivated the students by their stirring speech. Dr.Seetharaman, Principal College of Physiotherapy and Mrs.Sathya, Principal Allied Health Sciences were also present during the celebration with heart filled patriotism. The program was concluded by distributing sweets to all.

Velumaniammal Memorial Hall, Coimbatore. Thiru. D.Lakshminarayaswamy, Managing trustee, SNR Son’s charitable trust presided over the function. He emphasized the need for pharmacists to upgrade their Knowledge and practice in their profession in order to be globally competitive in fastest growing field. Dr.K.T.Manisenthilkumar, COO,Royal Care Super speciality Hospitals Coimbatore, was the chief guest who highlighted the role of pharmacists in various parts of the healthcare system. Also, he emphasized increasing the awareness about pharmacists among the public to fill the gap that stands as a barrier for the patient cure. Dr.P. Selvamani, Professor, Anna University, Trichy was the Guest of Honour and the resource person. He insisted on exploring various domains of pharmacy to improve the health care through health equity. Also gave talk on “From aspiration to achievements – unveiling my journey”. Dr.L. Panayappan, Director, Pasumai Pharmacies India Pvt Ltd, Coimbatore was a special invitee who enlightened the crowd with his practical knowledge of community pharmacy. The NSS volunteers created awareness among the patients crowd in Sri Ramakrishna Hospital Campus by distributing the safe medication use pamphlets and get-well-soon cards on the behalf of World Pharmacist Day celebration. The students and members of the faculty took the Pharmacist’s Oath collectively to remind their role in the society and healthcare system as a part of the celebration.
Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Paramedical Sciences, College of Pharmacy, Coimbatore in association with The Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R Medical university organized a one day continuing education programme in Pharmacy on “Bridging the Gap: Linking Analytical Techniques and Docking in clinical applications” held on 24th June 2023 at Smt.Velumaniammal Hall, Coimbatore. Prof. Dr.T.K.Ravi, Principal, College of Pharmacy delivered presidential address, he spotlighted the importance of linking the docking and analytical techniques in clinical applications in drug discovery. The chief guest of the program Thiru.R.Sundar, Joint Managing trustee, SNR Son’s charitable trust emphasized to improve the learning skills and drug research ability through conferences. Mr.Sivakumar.V VP & Chief of Operations, Veeda clinical Research, Ahmedabad was the Guest of Honour and resource person. He accentuated the need of drug safety in regulatory affairs. In his address Mr.Shivakumar, CEO, Strava Pharma, Dubai who was a special invitee, motivated the student to upgrade their knowledge and their own skills in order to achieve the success.

Dr. Sonia George., Associate Professor Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Welcomed the gatherings. Dr.T.K.Ravi, Principal, College of Pharmacy, presided over the function. The chief guest of the event is Dr. Jeeva Rathinam Gurusamy, Coordinator, Avinashilingam Center for International Education, HOD and Associate professor, Department of French, Avinashilingam Institute of Home Science and Higher Education for Women, Coimbatore delivered a talk based on the theme. She also distributed certificates and prizes to winners of the competitions organized in association with the International Womens Day. The NSS Unit, College of Pharmacy, SRIPMS joined with Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) Southern region (Ministry of Petroleum &Natural Gas, Government of India) has conducted a domestic workshop on Petroleum energy conservation on 13th march 2023 at New Auditorium, Sri Ramakrishna Hospital campus. The speaker Mr.Sheikdeen, Official PCRA Southern region highlighted the importance of conserving LPG, petrol, diesel, oil, and water in our daily life and indoctrinated the young minds. Dr.B.Rajalingam, NSS officer, COP, SRIPMS welcomed the gathering. Dr.S.Krishnan, HOD, Dept. of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, COP, SRIPMS, presided over the workshop. The participants of around 100 NSS volunteers along with NSS Unit of COP, SRIPMS attended the workshop.
On the Occasion of International day of Yoga 2023 the NSS Unit of College has organised a yoga session on 21-06-2023 at Velumaniammal Auditorium. Yoga Master Shri.Thiruvengadam, Art of Living was the resource person during the event.
A one day seminar on Continuing Education Program in Pharmacy entitled “Bridging the Gap: Linking Analytical Techniques and Docking in Clinical Application was organized on 24-06-2023 at Smt. Velumaniammal Memorial Hall. Experts from academia and industries has delivered their talk during the seminar. E posters were evaluated and best posters were awarded with cash prizes.

A national seminar on " Integrating Knowledge and Practice: Strategies and Challenges" was organized in association with Tamil Nadu Pharmacy Council on 15-12-2022 at S.N.R. Auditorium. Resource persons from various institutions has delivered their talk on the theme.
61st National Pharmacy Week 2022 Celebrations was held in our college campus. As a part of the event Quiz Competition was organized by our college, in association with IPA Coimbatore local branch. The valedictory program of 61st National Pharmacy Week 2022 was held on 26-11-2022 at S.N.R. Auditorium. Prize distribution was done for the students winners of various competitions organized.
