College of Pharmacy, Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Paramedical Sciences, Coimbatore had celebrated the Annual Sports Day-2018 on 22.06.18 at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College ground, Vattamalaipalayam, Coimbatore. Dr.N.R.Alamelu, Principal, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore was the Guest of honour and also inaugurated the annual sports day-2018 by lighting the torch. Dr.T.K.Ravi, Principal, college of pharmacy delivered the welcome address. Various track and field events were conducted for both boys and girls of the college who were earlier categorized into four houses. Dr.Ebenezer Jayakumar, Director, Academics, Sri Ramakrishna Educational Institutions Coimbatore had presided over the valedictory function of Annual sports day-2018. Smt. Latha Sundaram, National Volley ball player (Former) & Managing trustee, Aram Foundation Charitable Trust, Coimbatore, was the chief guest. Dr.G.Babu, Principal, Devaki Amma Memorial College of pharmacy, Chelambur, Malappuram, Kerala, was the guest of honour. All the invitees distributed the prizes, certificates and Medals to the winners of the various events.

The Red Ribbon Club Program Officers & Peer Leaders Training Program proposed by the Tamil Nadu State Aids Control Society, Chennai (TANSACS) was conducted by College of Pharmacy, Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Paramedical Sciences, Coimbatore, as scheduled by the Tamil Nadu Dr. M. G. R. Medical University, Chennai for the CoimbatoreZone on 06.02.2018. Out of 21collegesin the zone, 16 colleges had participated in the said training program. Resourcepersons from TANSACS and DAPCU of Coimbatoredistrict had participated in the training program. The session had started after a refreshment. The program had started with a formal inauguration, where the principal of our institution Dr. T. K. Ravi had presided over the function and the Dr. Karthick, Joint Director, Youth Affairs, TANSACS, Chennai and Mr. RVM Kumanan, Coordinator of District Aids Control and Prevention Unit (DAPCU) of Coimbatore had also participated. The RRC program officer & the training program Coordinator Dr. Rajalingam. B., had welcomed the gathering. The pre-lunch training sessions started with Dr. Karthick’s talk about the basic functioning of a red ribbon club (RRC) followed by Mr. RVM Kumanan’s talk about the roles & responsibilities of DAPCU and it functions. In the post lunch session, Mr. Arivalagan, a counsellor from DAPCU, Coimbatore and Mr.Mohanraj from a hospital had spoken on the various issues on HIV & AIDS. At the end the session one HIV positive speaker and another care taker of HIV positive patient had shared their views. The training program ended with vote of thanks by Dr. M. Gopal Rao, Vice- Principal, College of Pharmacy, Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Paramedical Sciences, Coimbatore.

Dr. T. K. Ravi, Principal & Dr. M. Gopal Rao Vice Principal of the institution delivered their felicitation address. The camp was having various activities including creating awareness to the public by door to door canvasing on various health issues including Dengue, Chikunguniya, Plastic bag ban, Tuberculosis, Personal Hygiene, Drug Expiry, Self Medication, Tobacco Cessation, Blood donation, etc. There were sapling plantations has been done in the school premises of the adopted village
